What counts as junk
Junk is anything you no longer want and can't easily move yourself. In a house that usually means the heavy and awkward: a worn sofa, a mattress and box spring, a bookcase that no longer fits the room, an old recliner, a broken table. It also means the loose end of a project, like torn-out debris, leftover materials and boxes of odds and ends.
Bagged waste belongs on that list too. After a garage cleaning, a basement sort or an estate clean-out, the bags pile up faster than a weekly pickup can take them. Carrying them out is the easy half. Getting them away from the house is the half that stalls most people.
JS Clean UP handles that part for homes across Monroe, the Lehigh Valley and Northampton County. We remove debris and garbage from the spaces where it has built up, whether that is a single room or a full clean-out.
How a load-out works
A load-out starts with a walk-through. We look at what is going, where it is, and what is in the way: stairs, tight turns, narrow doorways, things stacked against other things. That tells us how the carrying will go before anyone lifts anything. Because the Free Estimate is based on what we actually see, there is no guessing from a phone description.
Once you agree, the work is simple. Items come out in a sensible order: large pieces first while the path is open, then the smaller items and bagged waste. Furniture that won't fit through a door sometimes has to be taken apart first.
When the last item is out, we sweep the space where it sat. Pulling a heavy dresser off a wall often uncovers dust, crumbs and debris that were hiding behind it, and leaving that behind would make the job half finished.
What to set aside before we arrive
A little preparation makes the visit shorter. Walk the house and pull out anything that is staying: valuables, paperwork, medications, family photographs, keys, and anything you may want to keep. Check inside drawers, pockets of old jackets and the backs of cabinets, because small things hide in large items.
Then make the path clear. Move cars from the driveway edge if you can, open the doors that need to be open, and tell us about anything that is fragile, wet, sharp or unusually heavy. Mention anything you are unsure about, and we will talk through it at the estimate.
If the pile is bigger than you expected, that is fine. Call 484-898-7190, tell us what is going, and we will help you work out the order.
