Clean-out

Hoarding Clean Up

A steady, respectful clean-out from the first cleared path to a disinfected floor. You decide what stays.

When a house is past a weekend tidy

Nobody lets a home get to this point on purpose. Things pile up through illness, loss, a long stretch of overwhelm, or simply years of keeping what might be needed. The trouble starts when the piles stop being storage and begin to get in the way of living: a hallway too narrow to walk, a bedroom door that won't open all the way, a stove that can't be reached.

The practical problems tend to arrive in the same order. Exits and stairways get blocked, which is a safety issue before it is anything else. Soft materials like paper, fabric and cardboard hold moisture and invite pests. Odor settles into carpet, subfloor and drywall, so even after the items are gone the smell can stay behind. Those are the jobs a quick tidy can't reach, and they are the reason a clean-out takes planning.

JS Clean UP works as a team of cleaning specialists who clean and disinfect these locations and remove the debris and garbage that could cause injury or health problems for the people living there. We serve Monroe, the Lehigh Valley and Northampton County, and every job starts with a Free Estimate.

How a clean-out runs, room by room

It begins with a walk-through, with you if you want to be there. We look at which rooms matter most, where the exits and walkways are, and what has to be dealt with first. Most clean-outs go best when the first goal is simple: open a clear path from the front door to the rooms people actually use.

From there the work goes one room at a time, so the house never ends up in a worse state than the day we arrived. Items are sorted into what stays, what goes, and what needs a second look. Papers, photographs, medications, jewelry and anything sentimental are set aside for you to check rather than guessed at. The owner decides what stays. Trash and bagged debris are carried out as the room clears, which keeps the path open for the next stage.

We don't rush, and we don't comment on what we find. If a day is enough for a bedroom and a hall, that is a good day. Questions and changes of plan are normal, and you can reach us at 484-898-7190 whenever something comes up.

What the cleared house needs next

Once the floor is visible, the cleaning work can really start. Hard surfaces are scrubbed and disinfected, starting high and finishing low: shelves and counters, then cabinet fronts and door handles, then baseboards and floors. Bathrooms and kitchens get the most attention, because that is where contamination tends to collect.

Odor is treated as its own task. We aim to remove practically all germs, viruses, pollutants and smells, but smell that has soaked into porous material sometimes needs more than one pass, and carpet or padding that can't be saved may need to come out. We will tell you plainly what we see at the estimate.

Afterward, the best protection is keeping the paths open. A few habits help: one clear route through every room, a spot for mail and papers, and a small weekly reset instead of a big one. A clean-out is a fresh start, and we are glad to talk through how to hold on to it.
